  • Legendary Commander, good for PVP.
  • It has a large troop capacity for both open-field and rally.
  • It can be used both secondary and primary (it doesn’t have a unique specialty for troops)
  • It has a great damage skill in AOE that causes a strong debuff on its enemies affected by this skill.

Disadvantages

  • Doesn’t have healing factor.
  • It doesn’t have any skills or talents for PVE, it’s intended to be a PVP commander and only attacking cities. Open field battles are not your favorites.

Lu Bu is a strong Legendary commander ideal to attack enemy cities. This is his most effective form of PVP, we can use him for open-field but some of his skills or powerful abilities will be ineffective.

Sky Piercer” is his active skill that causes great damage to AOE up to a maximum of 3 targets at the same time, he applies a strong debuff to his enemies reducing their damage and defense, an excellent skill.

Horse of Horses” its main skill when attacking cities thanks to the increased damage it provides.

Man of Men” is an excellent skill that improves the attack of our troops with a permanent buff and another for probability, both very good to cause great impact on any enemy or city.

Flying General” increases the troop capacity of our army in open-field by a high percentage, if we launch a rally this capacity increases double.

Important: We want to highlight that Lu Bu, thanks to his talent trees and skills, is a Conqueror commander. We don’t recommend any Build for open-field since his talents don’t have a unique specialty in troops or the best variety of talents to focus on open-field. It’s better from secondary to open-field if we look for something more than Lu Bu.

Rally Build (Conquering)

Conquering Conquering Talents

  • Moment of Triumph Moment of Triumph: While the army led by this commander is at more than 90% strength, increases all damage dealt by 9%. Ideal to always reinforce our Rally while attacking cities.
  • Marionette Marionette: Reduces damage taken from watchtowers by 15%. Ideal for having the least possible loss of troops and taking less damage during our attack. It only works against cities, as these are the only ones that have watchtowers, excellent to Lu Bu.
  • Signal Flare Signal Flare: Increases damage dealt to watchtowers by 15%. Our direct attack against the watchtowers of the enemy city will be rewarded with extra damage essential for a quick victory.
  • Tear of Blessing Tear of Blessing: The number of troops that die when attacking another governor’s city is reduced by 9% and are instead severely wounded (and can be healed in the Hospital). Excellent!
  • Meteor Shower: When attacking garrisons, normal attacks have a 10% chance to increase all damage dealt on the next turn by 50%. A talent by probability, the DPS improvement provided by this talent is excellent. Strong Buff.

Skill Skill Talents

  • Heraldic Shield Heraldic Shield: Reduces skill damage taken by 6%. This damage skill reduction is very good to increase the resistance of Lu Bu and his troops when attacking cities.
  • burning blood Burning Blood: Normal attacks grant an additional 9 rage. Excellent for the reuse of our active skill when attacking cities.
  • Tactical Mastery Tactical Mastery: Increases active skill damage by 3%. Important talent for our damage skill increase.
  • All for One All for One: After the primary commander uses a skill, active skill damage of the secondary commander is increased by 6%. Any commander secondary to Lu Bu will have a skill damage buff. Great talent.
  • Rejuvenate Rejuvenate: Instantly restores 60 rage whenever a skill is used. Good talent to decrease the cooldown of our active skill.

Leadership Leadership Talents

  • Hidden Wrath Hidden Wrath: Grants and additional 6 rage every time this commander’s troops are attacked. Good talent to reuse our damage skill quickly.

Lu Bu is a great conqueror if we want to attack cities, this build accompanies his skills at all times if we want to burn an enemy city.

His main strengths are the buff and debuff from skills and talents.

Resistance is not his main ability, but thanks to this build, we will have something extra of that force that we want for our troops when attacking cities.

Rally Build (Skill)

lu bu skill talent build

In this second build, we focus Lu Bu damage on his active skill, and quickly regenerate Rage to use this as his main form of damage.

At all times Lu Bu will be a conqueror regardless of the talents we choose, his skills were created with a single purpose in Rise of Kingdoms and that is to burn cities.

Although we do not select any talent from the “Conquering” tree for this occasion, its effectiveness when conquering will be very powerful since this build is an alternative and directs its specialization to a new change of talents and way of inflicting damage:

Conquering Conquering Talents

  • This time we will not use any of the talents of “Conquering”.

Skill Skill Talents

  • Heraldic Shield Heraldic Shield: Reduces skill damage taken by 6%. Good damage reduction.
  • burning blood Burning Blood: Normal attacks grant an additional 9 rage. Excellent for the reuse of our active skill during any combat.
  • Tactical Mastery Tactical Mastery: Increases active skill damage by 3%. Important talent to our damage skill increase.
  • All for One All for One: After the primary commander uses a skill, active skill damage of the secondary commander is increased by 6%. Excellent!
  • Latent Power Latent Power: Enhanced additional skill damage by 6%. “Latent Power” + “Tactical Mastery” = +9% additional skill damage.
  • Clarity Clarity: After using an active skill, increases skill damage by 6% for the next 6 seconds. Lu Bu when using his active skill, will have a buff for 6 seconds that increases the damage of his next “Sky Piercer” by 6%.
  • Rejuvenate Rejuvenate: Instantly restores 60 rage whenever a skill is used. Great talent to take advantage of the buff from “Clarity”.
  • Feral Nature Feral Nature: Normal attacks have a 10% chance to grant an additional 100 rage. This talent has a probability of being effective, but if this probability favors us, we will generate a lot of damage quickly to any city that we attack.

Leadership Leadership Talents

  • Healing Herbs Healing Herb: Enhances healing effects received by troops by 9%. Lu Bu doesn’t have any healing skills; however, we can use a secondary commander with this type of ability and increase the percentage of their healing thanks to this talent.
  • Fresh Recruits Fresh Recruits: Increases maximum troop capacity by 3%. Excellent talent to increase our troop capacity in rally with “Flying General”.
  • Hidden Wrath Hidden Wrath: Grants and additional 6 rage every time this commander’s troops are attacked. Nice!
  • Armed to the Teeth Armed to the Teeth: When armies led by this commander contain 3 or more different unit types, all damage dealt increased by 3%. Great talent for having mixed troops.
  • Armored to the Teeth Armored to the Teeth: When armies led by this commander contain 3 or more different unit types, all damage taken is reduced by 3%. Very good!

This build is focused on damage per skill and the rapid regeneration of rage for the reuse of “Sky Piercer“, at the same time we have “Leadership” talents that are great in terms of increasing the capacity of troops and the use of these of mixed form.

If we take advantage of all these improvements, Lu Bu will be a strong commander attacking cities and causing great impact to this.

Rally Build (Mixed Troops)

lu bu mixed troops talent build

In this third and last build, we will adjust Lu Bu to tremendous versatility, using mixed troops in rallies when attacking cities.

When comparing it with the previous builds, we can say that we will have less damage skill, less rage regeneration, and less resistance when attacking cities.

However, we gain extra combat statistics and troop capacity, as well as skills that will adjust our army for better use of mixed troops.

This will also be a necessary build with secondary commanders like Hannibal Barca who greatly increase their damage through their skills to armies with mixed troops and increase their maximum capacity:

Conquering Conquering Talents

  • This time we will not use any of the talents of “Conquering”.

Skill Skill Talents

  • Heraldic Shield Heraldic Shield: Reduces skill damage taken by 6%. A significant reduction in damage skill.
  • Rejuvenate Rejuvenate: Instantly restores 60 rage whenever a skill is used. Rage, important for the reuse of our active skill.

Nice!
  • Steely Soul: Increased normal attack damage by 1.5%. Good talent.
Very good.
  • Close Formation Close Formation: When the army led by this commander has been reduced to 50% strength increases attack by 12%. Great talent!
  • Strategic Prowess Strategic Prowess: After using a skill, increases troop defense by 20% for the next 2 seconds. Lu Bu when using “Sky Piercer” will gain 20% extra defense to benefit his army, excellent!

The use of this latest build is an alternative to the previous ones, as we have been explaining, each of them has a unique and absolute way of use.

In this case, the main strength of Lu Bu will be its mixed troops and the extra capacity of troops, these will gain many statistics during the battle and will be greatly strengthened, in addition to the use of important talents that taking advantage of them correctly will have a great impact in each attack.

However, we must look for the best of the secondary commanders to accompany him to Lu Bu, it’s something we will depend on a lot in any of the three builds.

Best Commanders Pairings for Lu Bu

Julius Caesar Julius Caesar, A legendary commander whose troop capacity and endurance in open field or rally make him an excellent defensive hero. It’s one of the best couples that we can to Lu Bu if we seek absolute conquest, thus gaining great resistance and troop capacity.
Hannibal Barca Hannibal Barca, legendary P2W commander. His troop capacity along with the damage they generate is brutal! Hannibal has a healing factor skill only when attacking cities that we can take advantage of with Lu Bu’s “Healing Herb” talent. It’s also an ideal partner for the third build of Lu Bu since it has a skill that increases its damage thanks to the use of mixed troops.
Attila One of the fiercest conquerors in Rise of Kingdoms, Lu Bu as a secondary provides his army with a perfect combination of buff-debuff attack, both when attacking cities become fearsome, his great troop capacity is one of his main improvements when attacking cities.
Chandragupta Maurya Another great conqueror capable of annihilating any enemy, just like Attila, his attack is focused on buff-debuff that this can cause his enemy, when attacking cities this couple is very powerful, Lu Bu provides strong skills, necessary to achieve Victory next to Chandragupta.
Charlemagne A great conqueror, together with Lu Bu they are an excellent couple to attack enemy cities, Charlemagne has a great capacity troops, damage skill and powerful improvements to his army that combine perfectly for Lu Bu.
